Transformation Complete.

It took me a bit to completely figure out the blogger design tools but I think I have the ole' blog looking fresh while staying true to Perfectly Taylor'd..'s roots. I seem to change the look on here about once a year. Hopefully this one sticks for awhile because I adore those seashells. Adore. Them.

Modern Morrocan.

I am a firm believer that all of the seasons are great...but they are great in small doses. Good thing I live where I do, right? I am tired of being cold. I long for the hot, hot heat of mid summer...the breezy afternoons spent sipping on a diet coke reading a book in the park. I want to take a bike ride that doesn't require being wrapped in 30 layers to keep from catching pneumonia. Until then, I wanted to set the mood for a bedroom that has the sleekness of winter but also hints at the drama of the warmer months ahead.

The wall stencil is my favorite. I would love to see it painted in two gray tones. Are you making any updates to your place to get your mind off the winter?

It Aint' Easy Bein' So Pretty.

My baby was a model over the weekend. She loved it but it sure did wear her out!;) Check out her "Pet of the Week" post at Carmen Cay Photography. Carmen is amazing and if you are looking for a great photographer you definitely need to consider her for your next event!

Ideal India.

Love this shot of India Hicks. Check out her interview on Design Sponge if you haven't already. I had no idea her brother just came out with a book!

It's a Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, a Beautiful Day for Painting.

I love how the weather is giving us {in North Florida} a taste of the Spring. Perhaps that is what made me want to paint. Or maybe it was because I knew that if all I did last night was watch The Social Network, I would feel like I had accomplished nothing and would have simultaneously lost brain cells in the process. So...I lost a couple brain cells and created this new piece. If you check out my post about getting 50 followers you will see the inspiration for it. I took it a slightly different direction though because I was feelin' the foggy-ness that has been lingering around the river the past few days.

A Post Fulfilled & New Projects.

When I made gift suggestions in this Mad About Monday post, I wasn't expecting to actually get any of it.  A close friend loved the scrimshaw coasters however, and agreed that they would be the perfect B-Day gift for me!
This was awesome for several reasons: (1) it means a lot to me that my friend got me a birthday gift; (2) the coasters are ADORABLE in person; and (3) this is my first...anything...from Furbish - a place that is inspiring to me from a business/design standpoint.
In other news, I was able to do an initial consultation yesterday on another friend's kitchen remodel. She is set on using one of the two silestone countertops above and needs help picking out tile, cabinet stain, appliances, backsplash, and hardware. We also need to come up with a creative way to seperate the kitchen from the living room (so that if we paint the kitchen wall we don't have to then paint the entire living room).
I look forward to working with my friend and her spouse as they move forward on this project and I will keep you updated as decisions are made.

If that wasn't enough fun for one weekend, I also got a visit from my neighbor today who needs help with her apartment. She would like more light and color in her space and also needs to add a couple pieces of furniture. Just like the kitchen project - decorating her apartment will be a process. I will show you some "before" pictures soon and update you on this as well.

Fiddy...Fitty?...Fifty.

Today I hit 50 followers (not counting those of you who follow via Facebook). I just want to thank you so much for the love and support. Even if you just look around and never comment, it means a lot. In honor of this special day, I am sharing one of my favorite photos from 2010...taken at Cumberland Island this November during a camping trip.

I wish you a wonderful 2011!
To following dreams and pursuing creativity-Cheers!

Mad About Monday.

Just a few of my favorite things from Furbish Studio. My birthday is coming up so the hunt for something to be "Mad About" this Monday turned into a teensy little wish list. Wink wink..wink;)

A search for a different site led me to Uma Stewart Interior Design. I like the styling of the window seat area and the crispness of the kitchen she designed. Check out her blog here.
